  A+ Core Hardware and A+ Operating System :

For A+ certification, the examinee must pass both the A+ core hardware and A+ operating system technologies examination. The core hardware examination measures essential competencies for a micro computer hardware service technician. The examinee must demonstrate basic knowledge of installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing microcomputer systems at the standard defined by this test specification.

A+ operating system examination measures essential operating system competencies for microcomputer hardware service technician with six months of on-the job experience. The examinee must demonstrate basic knowledge of command line prompt, windows 9x, windows 2000 for installing, configuring, upgrading, trouble shooting and repairing microcomputer systems.

Objective:

A+ Certification is a CompTIA - sponsored testing program that certifies the competency of entry-level (6 Months experience) computer service technicians. The A+ test contains situational, traditional, and identification types of questions. All of the questions are multiple choice with only one correct answer for each question. The test covers a broad range of hardware and software technologies, but is not bound to any vendor-specific products.
